Reminders and Tips from the Maryland Department of Agriculture

Renewal season is upon us. Pesticide Business Licenses, Commercial Applicator Certificates and Registered Employees expire June 30th.
  • Make sure you have your credits up to date and/or proof of attendance (if available) for any recertification meetings that you would like to count towards your renewal.
  • Postcard reminders will go out in May.
  • Certification/recertification questions and/or questions regarding online testing can be directed to Alex Lehmann at alexander.lehmann1@maryland.gov or by calling 410-841-5710.
With all this rain, be wary of possible saturated soil conditions when applying termiticides.

Remember to check labels for updated information on endangered species.  Some labels may require you to visit EPA's Bulletins Live! Two website prior to application.

Please remember that someone may be very interested in what you are doing.  MDA's Pesticide Regulation has received videos of pesticide applications (across all categories).  Sometimes just an inquiry, others filing a complaint.  Be wary of your surroundings and make sure to follow all regulations and pesticide label instructions.

You can always find information about approved training courses, safe handling, storage and use of pesticides, certification and licensing, laws, regulations, and safe practices for pesticide use at the Maryland Department of Agriculture website.
